haiku~~~~~with a ramble about today being "World Teachers Day"

 rushing to the sea

red, gold bits of the forest

 my dreams go with them

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I have had a life long interest in Haiku, and it is because of a teacher I had in high school who, also enjoyed this simple, sensitive but powerful 17 syllable expression.
On this World Teachers Day, let us celebrate not only the teachers who changed our lives in major way, but those who added to our lives, teachers like the teacher who introduced  my class to a simple form of poetry.  Who thought that teaching a class of  working class and farm kids to write down their dreams was important.
