haiku~~~~~~autumn leaves
a walking stick now
We were newlyweds, with new baby, and a new house and a rake with a week handle that seemed grow splinters...one day it broke, or was it broken?? Not important anymore anyway. Instead of taking the long trip into town to get a new rake handle, the rake was fitted with a handle made from a downed branch. Decades past, we are in a new home, the rake with the homemade handle finally fell apart, a plastic rake that lasted almost 40 years. Whodathunkit!!!
