Anyroad, I have been captivated by the haiku for more than more than half a century now. It even seems strange to me as I write this, but it has been that long. Not exactly sure if I learned about haiku in my High School English class, or not. Probably did because at that time all things Japanese were "cool". Being interested in the art of the Ainu, the indigenous people of portions of Japan, and fascinated by the similarity of their art to the Tlingit and other indigenous peoples of the west coast of North America. Then there was the influence of Yoko Ono, and weighty tome " How to wrap 5 eggs", looking back the the strength of 17 syllables expressing moment in time.
And so with out further much ado about it, my first Haiku

return to the sea
