Christmas in July, is a wonderful thing, just a break or better yet a reminder of the anticipation of The Christmas season.
Christmas really is much too important of a day, and much too much work goes into preparing for it for Christmas to be over and forgotten so soon. A bit of refreshing cold weather, would temper this year's brutal summer heat and humidity. And a few snow covered memories, might cool the frustration of Summer's sticky heat.
The idea of "Christmas in July" comes from Australia where it is winter in July. From what I have read a group of people from Ireland were staying in the Blue Mountains when a snowy July evening in1980 reminded then of Yulefest and of home. This was where and when the first Christmas in July was celebrated with the help of the owner of Mountain Heritage Hotel, in Katoomba, Gary Crockett, a they enjoyed a celebration with 'all the trimmings' .
Christmas in July is a brief glimpse , a heartwarming reminder, a bit of the most familiar good feels and joyful anticipation.
