The Full Sturgeon moon,when the sturgeon return to the Great lakes to spawn.
Strength,patience and perseverance, connection to the land and trusting instinct are traits that are associated this full moon. The full moon will occur on August 9th at 3:55 AM EST.
Friday and Sunday nights the moon will look like full moons also.
Tonight the Aurora will be visible in many of the northeastern states.
Learned something new about the Sturgeon Moon from an a merchant at my favorite Flea Market, several years ago. He had the best selection of herbs, spices, and dried mushrooms etc i EVER saw! He also sold some really great and toasty warm socks for winter. The full moon was clearly visible in the sky that day, and i commented on it. He told me that depending on whether it is early in the month he called the full moon,"the Going Home moon" not the Sturgeon moon.
Never i did find out for sure how how or why he determined that.
