Memorial Day

When someone dies you don't "get over it" by forgetting;
you "get over it" by remembering, and by remembering
you are aware that no person is ever truly lost or gone
 once they have been in our lives and loved us,
as we have loved them.
- Leslie Marmon Silko

And so the flags and flowers are placed on the graves of our loved one, friends and family who have gone on leaving us behind,

 Leaving us to remember them,  thru the stories they told us or the  stories  we were told about them .   Is the history of  a family told thru the wars that set whole family groups moving from place to place, or crossing oceans for a more safe and more free place.   Searching for a place where their children could grow up to be our grandparents and great grandparents? Sadly, wars, effect more people than the brave soldiers who fought and died and their families.

We can and should remember them all.  Perhaps then we can, will heal.
