jack is back !!!
It is the end of one year and the beginning of the next. Perhaps this is when I should be making my NewYears resolutions, or NOT!
He's Back, is our Jack!
And he brings and sends out a message with his expression, or the symbols carved into him. A new thought, a new way of looking at his skeleton like features, and I like it. Though I have always found the grinning skeletal, carved, pumpkin faces to be comforting sights when the owls hoot, ad the winds moan and whistle through the bare branches on a cold, dark October night. I would not have enjoyed trick or treating's long walks along the empty dirt roads if I hadn't been able to see the welcoming glow of Jack's face in the distance.
At one time people dressed up as what they hoped they would be in the new year, and believed that doing so encouraged good things to enter their lives. They also gathered together as we still do, told fortunes, and waited for messages from those who crossed over, hoped, prayed, danced, sang, feasted and looked forward to a better year.
And so I wish "Great Joy and Blessings in the New", dear gentle readers
