Peace Rocks
Peace rocks.
Peace Rocks!
Ain't language grand? The same words can mean the different things, one of the things that makes it more difficult to get one's message across in print. The inflections of the spoken word and hand gestures, the wink and nod, or knowing smile aren't there. Printed words are dry by comparison to the words of the storyteller, or conversationalist. Is that why emoji's were invented, could be! A simple symbol makes it all clear.
Anyway, there is no doubt that these little rocks with Peace signs on them are something special. So when I read about the PeaceWeavers rock project, I thought that is one brilliant idea. And I feel deeply that I should share the idea, because I believe in the idea of waging Peace, in a strong, quiet and gentle way.
Peace really does begin in the heart of one person and hopefully it spreads, and spreads. Now I can just hear people saying "that's and old Hippie idea" or "there never has been peace before" . And I agree with both, but there is no reason we can't as individuals enjoy peace, even if the rest of the world is madly trying to wipe each other off the face of the earth. One pretty little rock at a time, we can remind ourselves, to be peaceful in our own hearts and hope it spreads. These tiny reminders, left for people to enjoy and if they wish take home with them. made simply using paint and stone, could be the reminders
of how one person can make a change.
