When I ramble, I ramble

Somewhere along the winding road of my life.  Doesn't that sound poetic?  I probably stole that from some musty old poem I read, diagrammed, dissected, deconstructed, reconstructed, and then build a retaining wall out of.  A musty old poem that was so convoluted that a book of explanations was required to unravel each stanza.

It would have been, much easier if we had been searching for the meaning of poetry like we interpreted song lyrics, which was with the full knowledge that words strung together had to sound right and have the right cadence, then said words could mean something lofty. At least that was one opinion put forth, back at the "Dawning of the Age of Aquarius....yes,this really did happen.

So in a flash back to 1968 English class ....here is how the "class team" I was a member of dissected this passage from "I am the Walrus"

Semolina pilchard
Climbing up the Eiffel Tower
Elementary penguin singing Hare Krishna
Man, you should have seen them kicking Edgar Allan Poe  ~~~~~John Lennon

-Semolina pilchard must have something to do with fish and chips.

-the Eiffel Tower must mean running away from home

_and of course, Edger Allen Poe, must have been some sort of reference to opium.

That 6 took us about 2 hours of looking things up in the encyclopedia and/or dictionary.  Were we "honor students" ???? UM, uh don't think I want to answer that one.

What, if anything, does this have to do with anything?   I want to think that it has alot to do with those times. Especially after I found the yellowed paper that was the rough draft of our ideas in a book , a Library discard of Wordsworth's Prelude.
